Homeschool Schedules can make our break your peaceful home atmosphere. If you're struggling with your journey in family values and life is chaotic in your home, you need to STOP what you're doing- today! Take a few moments or hours for prayer and meditation and really think about what is important in your life. Imagine what your ideal day would be like and think about the changes you can make to accomplish those goals. Don't let another crazed day go by- regain your peaceful lifestyle! Homeschool scheduling is a key to your homeschooling success. To bring peace to your home, homeschool schedules are of upmost importance. If you don't have a plan of what you'd like you accomplish on a daily basis, it's probable you won't get a lot accomplished, and chaos will likely abound. What do you need to prioritize in your life to make your healthy homeschool scheduling become a success? Every family has different circumstances. Do you have a routine daily work schedule, or does your spouse have differing weekly shift-work? Are there little children under school age which will require extra attention? What kinds of activities are your family members involved in? Do you need to simplify things and cut some activities out? All things need to be taken into consideration before a homeschool daily schedule can be put into place. For any homeschool daily schedule to work, you first need to prioritize your morning. YOU set the tone for everyone in the home. As the saying goes... If mamma ain't happy, ain't no one happy... Are you rising early enough in the morning hours? A few moments of quiet and meditation before little feet arise will do wonders for your day. Are you already stressed out by the time breakfast is served? What can you do to plan ahead for the hectic moments in your day, and help your homeschool daily schedule work?
Here are some homeschool scheduling tips that have helped us: * Arise early. The morning hours before little children awaken are precious times. Use them wisely to get ahead of your day. A few moments of quiet, reflection- and a time of quiet with the good Lord, along with last minute preparations for the day can be accomplished. You might also want to get in a quick workout- or a few moments of stretching. Remember to take care of both your spiritual and physical self in order to have energy to lead your little troops and take charge of your homeschool schedules. * Pre-plan your morning. Just a little pre-planning can do wonders for your homeschool daily schedule. Think about breakfast the evening before- can you have something waiting and ready to serve (healthy!) when morning comes? There are many healthy options to choose from, such as steel-cut oats soaking overnight, or homemade granola that has been made ahead of time. You can also have school-work ready to go the night before. Having each child's work ready to be started when they arise leaves the guesswork out of what they will be doing that day. I've found our children do MUCH better when they know what to anticipate throughout their day. * Pre-plan your meals. If dinner-time comes around and you have no clue what you're having, chances are it's too late. Children (and possibly your spouse) are starving and cranky. Try making a weekly menu to help you with meal planning strategies. Knowing your meals ahead of time will help you also to spend less money at the store. Find meals that are easy to make, and if possible, prepare them earlier in the day so dinner isn't rushed. Do you have children that can help in the preparations? If so, you have your own Home-Ec 101. * Limit activities. Are you running around to 20 different events each week? Do you really need to be? How important is each activity to the well-being of your daily homeschool scheduling goals? Be honest with yourself and remember that sometimes family time spent without running is FAR more important than the activity. Maybe there is a family sport you can all participate in together? * Tidy and reflect. As you day winds down, take just a few moments to tidy the house. Your morning will go much more smoothly if you awaken to a cleaned-up home. Before retiring, take a few moments to reflect upon your day. Are there any changes you can make to improve your homeschooling scheduling? Be encouraged and take a few moments to immerse yourself in a good book- relax, rejuvenate and refresh yourself.
What should you do next? Any lifestyle change with your homeschool schedules must start with action! I encourage you to find a trusted family-member or baby-sitter and head out on an adult planning session with your husband. Discuss what you would like to see in your ideal homeschooling lifestlye. What changes do you need to make in your daily routine? Work together with your spouse to plan the schedule that would be ideal for your family. You aren't in this alone- it takes a team to make it work.
Looking back to our first homeschooling years, I'm not sure how anything was accomplished! I flew from the screaming baby to the chaos of toddlers to dirty dishes- then threw some schooling in there, and placed the weight of the world on top of me because I felt like I couldn't get anything done. My goal: make it through the day without losing it. I had NO plan of action. There are still some days like those- homeschool schedules are bound to fall apart. But, it's how you handle the bumps on the road that count. Homeschool schedules are a guide for your day- not necessarily a strict rule. What does our general homeschool daily schedule look like?
